Why DFD?

Global demand for fish and reasons for the rapid growth of the worlds Aquaculture industry

Fish farming (Aquaculture) is the fastest growing sector in the worlds food production.

There will be no danger of a glut or drop in prices of fish products, as the global demand for fish products will, for the foreseeable future, outstrip the supply from both sea catches and the Global Aquaculture industry.

Since 1990 the global aquaculture industry has been growing at an average compound rate of around 10% a year – meat production grew only 2.8% per annum over the same period.

The global ocean fish catch has been in decline since the mid 1980’s as a result of over-exploitation of the oceans, resulting in the depletion of sea fish species.

Over the same period, the world demand for fish has been rapidly increasing, thus putting more pressure on marine reserves.

The global fish farming industry already supplies more than 50% of the worlds consume fish consumption, being over 50 million tons per year, in the year 2015.

The worlds demand for fish and fish-products has outstripped the stock and there is not enough farmed fish to supply the unprecedented global rise in sea food prices.

Why DFD

Danish Fishfarms Development (DFD) has develop the lay-out designs and the production parameters for the “Fish Farming Complex”, incorporating state-of-the-art, reliable technology developed over a period of some 30 years in the Scandinavian Fish Farming Industry.
Exceeding the limits being innovation driven, is one of the core values in DFD.
We have a Professional ambitious approach to improvements and welcome New ideas.

DFD will develop a sustainable industry, based on the latest technology in super intensive fish farming, to make its high quality products globally competitive.

Although the cost of establishing “Super Intensive Fish Farms” is high, the returns of investment is on long terms also high and it is estimated to exceed 20% return on investment (IRR) for the investors.

DFD’s Projects are Turn-Key projects including, but not limited to the supply of:

  • Elaboration of Terms Of Reference (TOR)
  • Pre-Project Design & Quantity survey /Development and Feasibility Study/Budgeting/Tendering materials.
  • Developing a (PDP) Preventive Disease Program for the farmed fish
  • Building Design
  • Project Design & Engineering
  • Development of Customized IT programs and systems
  • Supply of Equipment, tools, machines and Vehicles
  • Site Management
  • Civil works
  • Construction & installation
  • Pre-Operational Management
  • Test-run & Handing-over

We Control and Manage the complete Production and Processing, so we can optimize:

  • The efficiency of the fish farm
  • The sustainability of the fish farming Complex
  • The profitability of the fish farm
  • The high quality of the final products

This is a quantum leap in the evolution of Sustainable Aquaculture.

The Super Intensive Fish Farming Complex is labor intensive and will be able to pay equitable wages to its staffs and workers.
